Tarvaris was killed when his 2012 Chevrolet Camaro left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned. The incident took place at Pike Road, Alabama, just seven miles south of his home town, Montgomery.
The funeral for the former Minnesota Vikings quarterback will be held at True Divine Baptist Church on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic protocol, Jackson's service will only be open to the family. Also, it is requested to family members to pay respects in 10 person shift.

Tarvaris tied the knot with Lakitta in 2014. The former Seattle Seahawks QB was arrested in 2016 for pulling a gun on his wife at a vacation home near Orlando, Florida.
Despite that incident, the relationship between them did not sour, and the couple remained married till his death.
Tarvaris after graduating from Sidney Lanier High School of Montgomery in 2001, he enrolled at the University of Arkansas.
Sadly, Jackson's stay with Razorbacks did not last long. In his freshman year, he suffered a medical injury that limited his games and which in turn left him trailing behind Matt Jones.

Thus, in 2003 he transferred to Alabama State University.The move turned out to be beneficial for him and the team. Jackson led Hornets to an 8-5 record win, Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Eastern Division title, and berth in the SWAC Championship Game. By senior season, he was named team captain.
Overall he completed college years with 7,397 passing yards, 64 passing touchdowns,and 26 interceptions.
After college, in 2006 Tarvaris was selected as Quarterback by Minnesota Vikings. He signed a four-year deal,including a $1 million signing bonus. With that,he became the first quarterback from Alabama State to be drafted into the NFL since Ricky Jones in 1992.
Jackson, though, started strong but he was no able to deliver good performance for the team. He suffered many injuries and remained on bench most of the time.

Thus after four year, Minnesota kept him as a restricted free agent and gave a one-year tender worth $1.176 million.
After a year the contract with Vikings was over, and he joined Seattle Seahawks as the starting quarterback. His performance remained below average thus, he was traded to Buffalo Bills on August 26, 2012.
Even with average performance, The ASU alum was re-signed by Bills in 2013 for one more year for $2.25 million. However after few months he was released from the contract.
On June 13, 2013, he signed a one year deal with Seattle Seahawks as a backup quarterback. Same year, he played in Super Bowl XLVIII which Seahawks won against Denver Broncos by 43-8.

After that, he remained with Seahawks for one more year and by 2015, he became an unrestricted free agent.
In his decade long career in NFL, he played 59 games in which he completed 1,073 passes, 7,263 passing yards, 39 passing touchdowns and 35 Interceptions.
Tarvaris,from his NFL career, made more than $12 million in salary. However, because of poor financial management, by year 2016, he was pretty broke.
During one legal case, Tarvaris claimed that he was broke and needed a pubic defender. Also, he told the judge that he had no income, no savings, no bank accounts, stocks. His only possession is a $100,000 car.

Nonetheless, his financial situation improved from 2018 as he started searching other opportunities than football. At first, he became a graduate assistant at Alabama State University.
