Did Emma Watson Undergo Plastic Surgery?

There are rumors that actress Emma Watson, who is a UN Women Goodwill ambassador and self-described feminist, opted for plastic surgery. Is that true?

Emma Watson is one of those rare child stars who did not fall in the pitfalls of sudden wealth and fame. The English actress became a worldwide star in the 2000s with the success of Harry Potter films. The films made a total of $1.342 billion at the global box office and Watson reportedly earned 40 million pounds (approx.$49 million) for the last two films. By the teens, the Harry Potter actress has gained so much she could have lived the rest of her life comfortably without working. However, she prioritized her education and got admission at an Ivy League college and completed her bachelor's degree. Not only that, the Brown university alum further became a youth icon when she became a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and advocated gender equality. She on various platforms has advocated for feminism and to be comfortable on their own skin.

So, did Watson who has been advising others for years to feel good about themselves and not to succumb to societal pressure herself bowed to the Hollywood standards and had plastic surgery?

Did Emma Watson Had Nose Job?

As Emma Watson started hitting her mid-teens, people began noticing that the actress had a more narrow nose. The change was not so substantial, but nonetheless her nose started looking more defined than in early years.

Nonetheless, if truth to be told, the rumors of Watson getting rhinoplasty is a bit far fetched. There is no big difference between her nose in early days and later days and the small change in the shape of the nose can be created with the help of make-up, especially contouring.

Well, it seems like there is some truth to these rumors. "The Circle" actress wore braces for four months between the filming of Harry Potter movies. Usually, Braces take 1-2 years to give the desired result, however when a person does teeth straightening surgery, he/she only needs to wear braces for a brief period

Since Emma wore braces for a few months only, thus she likely underwent surgery. Also, the actress is a patron of Elleven Dental Wellness and has given good reviews to the clinic. It seems like she is a long time client of the clinic.

There is a little to no doubt that Watson used Teeth Straightening surgery to fix her crooked teeth. However it will be wrong to put this in the plastic surgery category, since it is just a minor surgery which is done using local anesthesia. Also, it was done when she was still a teen, not an adult. So, it is very likely she did on the suggestion of her parents or agents and not a will of her own.

Emma Watson is Against the Idea of Plastic Surgery

The main reason why the rumors of Watson having plastic surgery does not seem real is because she is very vocal against the idea of plastic surgery.

In an interview with Elle UK back in 2011, the "Little Women" actress stated:

"I find LA quite scary because of that—all those young people having plastic surgery. But the thing is, I don't want to look like everyone else. I don't have perfect teeth, I'm not stick thin. I want to be the person who feels great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn't want to change anything."
