For a definitive plans for Eminem's online listening party this week, you can text him on this phone number.
Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, released his cell number on his Instagram and Twitter pages, and his voicemail has been completely full. According to the clip he shared alongside the caption, it was directed at his legion of fans who call themselves "Stans" after he released his hit single Stan exactly two decades ago.
The 47-year-old hip-hop artist urged his followers to text at 313-666-7440, writing, "text me, ill hit you back." It's gone viral since announcing it almost 24 hours ago. "Dear Stan, I meant to write you sooner, but I just been busy," he wrote before revealing his number in reference to the song about the murder-suicide of a fictitious superfan named 'Stanley Mitchell'.
When texting the given number, you can receive the message, "Yo, it’s Em, hit the link to get added to my contacts. I’ll be back with the plans for this week!" He's referencing his online listening party to celebrate the anniversary of The Marshall Mathers LP scheduled for this week. It's been two decades since his third studio album.
He also includes a link in the message so that fans can add themselves to his contact list and also maybe get updates on the rapper's concerts and events. Imagine the length of the list, which may not be as overwhelming to his phone, because the numbers won't be on it.
Like many before him, the number he released on social media isn't his actual number but a product of a tech start-up app called Community. It actually connects high-profile celebrities to their insurmountable amount of fans while avoiding trolls and general stupidity that certain group of users create against them.
The voicemail box for his number is reportedly full, as of this morning. The area code on his line is for Dearborn, Michigan, which is real close to Detroit, from where he is.
